Life is More than Negatives!

Well, I'm not sitting on the floor, yet (see previous post), but I am here sitting and listening to my picks of music on Pandora.com. A great way to have many different "genres" of music and you get to choose and on a rainy day like today, I'm into classical music. Very relaxing! Once I'm done playing on my computer, I'm going to start to read Angels and Demons again. I want to reread it before I go see the movie. I've been pondering a lot lately and have completely forgotten life's greatest gifts: blessings. We're so caught up in our daily lives which are usually f------- up most of the time that we forget that everyday there is something we've missed because we were looking the wrong way (and I don't mean at the stop sign on the road). Let me elaborate: for instance, for two weeks in a row, I had to go to two funerals, but the in the next week two very special friends of mine had three babies! I went and bought a $1.00 scratch off ticket and won $40.00 (enough to fill up the car with gas) as my retirement check had not yet come in and my gauge was on empty. I have had friends calling me everyday about how my "house" fiasco is going (so far, no good news), but the people calling are. For quite awhile, I had been hoping to buy a "kindle book" for those of you who don't know, a Kindle is another type of "iPod" but only for books. The smaller one holds 1,500 books in it and the books are quite cheap as well. I know this book will "turn you on: " The Complete Works of Shakespeare" cost $1.00 to get on the Kindle. The complete essays of Emerson AND Thoreau just $1.00. Newer books are a little more expensive like $2.99. Anyway, to make my long story shorter, my doctor, who is a good friend especially since she saved my life over a year ago, made me a gift of a Kindle which should come anyday now. How can you beat that?

  1. A good reminder that we need to balance out our list of negatives with a list of blessings even though it may be hard to do sometimes. Thanks.
