My Favorite Chair
For those of you who don't know, my favorite recliner is sadly past the dementia stage and it is nearly on its deathbed. It really didn't live up to its billing from the furniture store (of course, the store is now out of business; isn't everything?). Anyway, my chair has slowly been declining for quite awhile now: a declining recliner. The first thing that happened is that the rails that the chair sets on broke--both of them. OK, I thought, it still reclines, I can live with that. Then when I moved it to vacuum (whether I needed to or not), there were 3-4 nuts and bolts on the floor. I said, OK, the chair still works, I have no idea where they go, although I did look. The next time I wanted to recline, I pulled on the lever and the lever came off; did I get angry? No, I got frustrated because I could still lean back and it still reclined, so be angry? That's probably where the nuts/bolts came from! Of course the part where the feet go up didn't go down the way it was supposed to; so, what the heck, I could still use the chair. Today, a piece of the wooden frame came off underneath the chair, it's still there because you never know, even chairs might evolve, either that or my next post might come from me sitting on my butt on the floor after the chair just up and dies. That's ok, it won't stop me from blogging!
