Trapping furry crittahs

I have had it; I'm frustrated; I don't like losing especially to a mouse! Now, I can admit that my dogs MIGHT outsmart me A LOT, but because they at least are cute I can forgive them. But a MOUSE! No way! I've tried all kinds of ways to trap these wily creatures ever since I was a camp counselor back in the 70s and one night a mouse ran over a pole that was above me and he took a crap and it landed on me. That was it; war was declared! Usually I've won most of those battles, but now that it's fall, mice are heading inside and my record is up to 9 in a season. However, this fall, I've got one who is a Mr. Genius Mouster. I've used every kind of trap, glue, poison whatever. The best trap is the snap-trap that kills 'em immediately, unless of course they back into the cheese. But this mouse has some smaaahhhts! Once I tried peanut butter, nothing, then I tried cheese (Velveeta no less!) and s/he licked the whole thing off without snapping the trap! Impossible you say? Uh-uh! I made sure that stuff was smeared in, around, under, on top, underneath wherever there was a chance of that thing licking, biting or snorting it! NO DEAD MOUSE; it was absolutely clean, I mean Mr. Clean clean! No way is that son-of-a-b gonna win this battle. Yesterday, I felt like Bill Murray in "Caddyshack" and a hand grenade in my cupboard is starting to have its appeal! I'll let you know whether or not the house remains in tact.
