Reason #1 why students should leave school early!

Basically, I have found that students know everything by this time. Face it, they know how to fix and figure out how to use everything we use today: computers, LCD TVs, DVDs, every new phone, iPod and Zune known to mankind. At 16, they want to own a car and be more independent. I say, go ahead, but you'd better plan on living in the car now that you know everything. You want to work, great, go to it. The baby-boomers are retiring anyway and we need more people working to put money into Social Security. Of course, this is just crazy, isn't it? But there is some truth to this issue. I am serious about the fact that most kids know what they need to to get a job by the age of 16. I'm talking about the fact that by that time, they should know how to read, write and do arithmetic: the basics. Seriously, any company who eventually hires them will train them for the job they want them to do anyway. Now, if you have kids who do not "meet the standards" (school standards) at 16, then they will have to stay in school until standards are met; that goes without saying. However, a big piece of this pie also depends on one other "standard:" and that is this: Every one, after leaving school, must perform "community service" for two years. How can that be accomplished? There are so many places that need people to work, volunteer, etc, that that part shouldn't be a problem. However, each 16-18 yr. old will need a place to eat, sleep, etc. Now, I'm not talking about these kids just working a couple of hours a day, I'm talking a full 8 hr. day and wherever they stay, they help with chores, cleaning and paying part of their salary as rent. You DO realize that I am not allowing these kids to stay at home! They must move out of the house. How do they receive a salary (even a small one?); this would be run like the Peace Corps; again, the $$ received per student from each state for their "formal education" could be used as salary money. These kids aren't going to get paid CEO money for heaven's sake. The idea is that they learn what working for others is about under proper supervision. Now, you'll have to wait for the next blog to see what my plan is for students who WANT to stay in school and receive a higher education. I have a plan for those students as well.

  1. It is obvious you come from the wrong generation and wrong side of the ideological "track." You actually believe that everyone must WORK and be contributing members of society. SHOCKER!
