Proctoring Final Exams

Well, here I am doing the most boring job in the world, although it's educational, it's still boring. I am proctoring Senior Final exams. Blah, blah, blah!!!! At least the kids seem to think they're (the exams) are important. I've learned a lot since I retired way back when: we educators, make. learning. boring. Can't say it any plainer than that. Public schools, and private ones for that matter, must and can make learning fun. Learn by doing, building, tasting, creating: use your hands, your feet, your eyes, your nose and the brain will follow. Sitting in class on your ass is no way to pass. (<-- I did that all by myself!) The industrial revolution is OVER folks; why don't schools get it?

  1. Your next post should include suggestions for educators =)

  2. I knew someone would say that! I DO have some ideas, actually! But I will not put in my favorite: cryogenically freezing 7-8 graders, then bringing them back as 9th graders.

  3. That's what Wayne thinks too. Middle school/junior high is just a cesspool of raging hormones, growth spurts, adolescent mood swings, etc. You are so correct in that it is a terrible age that should be skipped if possible--HA!
